Travelling with your converted van

Van conversions are a brilliant way of transforming an old van, or one that isn’t used anymore, into a mobile home, something that will be used a lot more frequently.

A great use for your new converted van is to go travelling! It is the most common thing to do after converting your van, after all. Although, it is important to remember that your converted van will be your home for the foreseeable future, should you choose to go travelling.

You’ll want your van to be as warm as possible and you will likely lose a lot of heat through the windows, so it’s an idea to hang up thermal curtains for when you’re asleep.

You are able to sleep anywhere; if your van looks inconspicuous enough, that is. However, you must consider that there are places that may not be safe to spend the night. But you could sleep on the likes of a beach, a mountain, in large cities etc – and the best part is, you don’t have to pay for accommodation.

It’s possible you’ll find yourself cooking inside of your converted van. It is important to eat wholesome food when you’re on the road as you’ll need to adjust to the changer weather and different environments. You will no doubt be passing local shops on your travels too.

Remember to stay safe and take precautionary measures, after all, you won’t be able to enjoy your travels if you don’t feel secure in your mobile home. Invest in a fire extinguisher that is the right size for your van, and also a carbon monoxide alarm. Not forgetting the essentials of a first aid kit and having somewhere you can lock away valuable items.
