You have finally decided that your van needs to be converted, you need that unique and unconventional look, but why should you choose Van-Formers to do this? Read more

When considering a van conversion, an important factor will be the cost.

It is possible you might be building your own campervan, rather than purchasing one to save your money.

Although, if you do opt for a bespoke conversion by Van Formers, the initial thing to do would be working out a budget and section the costs between each part of the process.
The cost is a factor entirely dependent on the buyer with how much they are willing to spend. You set the budget and build the vehicle around that budget.

If things are broken down with costs, you may want to consider these:

Vehicle – The first and foremost factor will be the cost of the vehicle if you do not already have one. Set a budget; bear in mind the more that is spent means a better vehicle and less spent on maintenance. On average, £500 will buy a basic van, £3,000 will buy a great used van and £10,000 will buy a new van.

Fittings – Next will be how you are going to fit-out your vehicle. Depending on whether you’d like a lot or a little, this will be the next factor in your budget to consider. A basic, seat bed and cupboard won’t cost much, however if you like much more, including a kitchen sink, this could cost up to £5,000.

Legal – If you are changing your vehicle from a van to a campervan, there are road authorities that you may want to inspect prior to re-categorising, which could be costly. It is advised to insure your vehicle also.
